The trailer for “Kraven the Hunter” introduces Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character, promising an R-rated and bloody adventure.
The film is based on the Marvel Comics villain Kraven, who is a Russian immigrant and a skilled hunter aiming to prove himself as the world’s greatest by defeating Spider-Man. The trailer reveals a young Kraven struggling to find his identity under the influence of his domineering father, and gaining superhuman abilities after surviving a lion attack.
Unlike the comics, this version of Kraven uses bows and arrows for hunting, resulting in violent and gory scenes. The trailer also showcases the return of the supervillain Rhino. “Kraven the Hunter” is the fourth installment in Sony’s Spider-Man supervillain stories and the first R-rated Marvel film from Sony.
It is set to release on October 6th and features a cast including Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, and Christopher Abbott.
